This blog is really a journal of my journey into the world of art. I have no formal art training and have not done much more than doodle since I was a kid. But I am learning that art is an important aspect that has been missing from my life. Thanks to some wonderful extremely artistic friends in the fountain pen world and on Twitter I have begun this journey - thanks, Mia, for insisting that everyone is an artist!

No Frills Prompt 20: Chaos
Tammy over at DaisyYellow posts weekly prompts to help us get our creative juices flowing. This week's prompt is "Chaos". I was inspired by this word to post this since my "work and play space" has turned into a disaster area. I was just beginning cleanup of the area when I read Tammy's prompt - so here you go - enjoy the Chaos.

21 Secrets - Abstract Adventure
Now that busy season is over I have time to begin playing with my art supplies and working on the 21 Secrets - Art Journal Workshop. I discovered this workshop from following Tammy over at Daisy Yellow. Tammy is teaching one of the workshops.
The first workshop that I am attending is Connie Hozvicka's Abstract Adventure. Remember, I'm one of those analytical left brain types who has not exercised her artsy muscles in years, so I'm re-learning the process.
Here is the first page in my Fearless Art Journal:
I initially put too much paint on my palette so being that analytical type, who can't stand to waste paint, I used it to create these postcards for MailArt365. It will be a little while before they go out as I put the paint on pretty thick so it's going to take a while for them to dry.

Week #17 Challenge: 15 Minutes of Fame
This one was very difficult for me. I taught myself how to Zentangle, using Rick and Maria's kit, books and all the wonderful websites, some of which are on my blogroll.
Here is what I managed to finish within the time frame.
I will be taking my first Zentangle® class on April 30, with a Certified Zentangle Teacher®. I am really looking forward to all that I can learn from her.

Challenge #15: Love your Curves, Baby.
This week's challenge was, well, challenging.
Here are the results.
Although in all honesty...
I am not completely satisfied with any of them.
