I have a lovely apricot colored tea rose called Just Joey.  It has a heavenly scent and it currently blooming - not a ton of blossoms, but enough to go out and try to capture them...

Color Wheels and Color Theory

Lesson 2 in Dion Dior's Mastering Twinks class includes color theory and the first three exercises involve creating a color whell with Twinkling H2O's

I decided to do two wheels - one, above, with the recommended premixed colors.

The second using the primary colors and mixing my secondary and tertiary colors.

I am glad that I did both, I used the wrong color for my red in my mixed wheel and ended up with a brown rather than a purple.  I do have to say that the blue and the red used did not mix all that well.  Although all the other mixed turned out great.  It was a good lesson in mixing Twinks, they are very different from traditional watercolors.

Book of Days 6

I find myself fascinated with backgrounds and colors - I only wish this truly reflected the richness and glow of the Twinkling H2Os - the texture is provided by a number of things - the watercolor paper that I glued into my sketchbook, the glue itself and an application of Golden's clear tar gel.
