Watercolor pencil, Stillman and Birn Zeta series
This blog is really a journal of my journey into the world of art. I have no formal art training and have not done much more than doodle since I was a kid. But I am learning that art is an important aspect that has been missing from my life. Thanks to some wonderful extremely artistic friends in the fountain pen world and on Twitter I have begun this journey - thanks, Mia, for insisting that everyone is an artist!

Sketchbook Skool Week 3
This weeks instructor is Prashant Miranda and our first homework assignment was to go outside and do a watercolor of the sky. The skies here have been a little boring lately, typical midsummer washed out blue, so I chose a photo that I took of a spectacular sunset that I took in the fall of 2006.

Sketchbook Skool Week 1
I signed up for Sketchbook Skool and the first day of klass was July 4.
Our first assignment was to draw an object which has some meaning to you, while I was deciding on an object I did this sketch of Kota.
This was done in a Strathmore Hardbound Journal with 80 lb toned gray paper. This will be my journal of choice for the course, at least for the moment.
I'm not as pleased with the results of this sketch, but that's the point of Skool.
