This blog is really a journal of my journey into the world of art.
I have no formal art training and have not done much more than doodle since I was a kid. But I am learning that art is an important aspect that has been missing from my life.
Thanks to some wonderful extremely artistic friends in the fountain pen world and on Twitter I have begun this journey - thanks, Mia, for insisting that everyone is an artist!
I'm using a Sakura Gelly Roll but I'm not sure how happy I am with it. I think I'm going to try the Signo Angelic - I saw a review an it looks pretty good. I'm also using a fountain pen and a brush pen with Noodler's White Peacock - but it is not quite white enough.
I've been using a Signo (not Angelic... not sure what type of Signo). I'm considering moving on to a pointed nib and Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White. That certainly gives you that total white coverage when doing calligraphy - so I think it might be worth getting my calligraphy pens out again. Let me know how you go with the Signo Angelic!

Very cool! I love how the straight lines are all hidden within curved patterns, and the white-on-black look is beautiful.
Awesome! :]
Thanks - I like doing white on black

I really like this one! White on black has always so amazing effects…
very Striking, I love the way the tangle is in close up view, and embellished with other complimentary tangles. It all looks great in white on black!
The white on black is wonderful! I like it.

Great contrast done this way! Lovely!

I'm really digging this one :)
Love the white on black. What's your fave white marker?
