This blog is really a journal of my journey into the world of art. I have no formal art training and have not done much more than doodle since I was a kid. But I am learning that art is an important aspect that has been missing from my life. Thanks to some wonderful extremely artistic friends in the fountain pen world and on Twitter I have begun this journey - thanks, Mia, for insisting that everyone is an artist!

Ibis
We had a white Ibis in the yard Wednesday evening, hunting for bugs in the grass. I'm not particularly happy with this page, however I figure that I need to post the bad along with the good so... a white Ibis on an icky page.

very nice, love it!!!!!!
Julie, it looks like you had some trouble with the paper. I know I really hate the regular Moleskine paper for watercolour. Is that what you used?
No - I'm using a QuoVadis Habana right now, it's not really designed for this - I should move my watercolor to a more H20 friendly journal and keep the Habana just for sketching
What a beautiful bird! How big are they?
I had no idea there were ibis in the US!! I only know them Egypt!!!
I like this! It makes me think of Egyptian hieroglyphics. The Scarlet Ibis is the national bird of where I'm from :)
Thanks - your positive comments mean so much
