This blog is really a journal of my journey into the world of art.
I have no formal art training and have not done much more than doodle since I was a kid. But I am learning that art is an important aspect that has been missing from my life.
Thanks to some wonderful extremely artistic friends in the fountain pen world and on Twitter I have begun this journey - thanks, Mia, for insisting that everyone is an artist!
You're really starting to get the feel of the animals. One thing you might try to be more aware of is the direction that the fur is growing. When you do the line work try following the direction of growth. For instance in the sketch of the dog's head in the bottom right corner you've got all the lines going parallel to each other (except for the outline of course). You might find that if you follow the fur direction, the shape of the dog will become more three dimensional. I hope this is the sort of feedback you were looking for. Tchao-wow, Ruca
This is exactly what I am looking for. I have absolutely no training so any suggestions and pointers are very welcome. Thank you. Big virtual skritches on their way to you.
After looking at all the doggie sketches you've done lately, I'm under the impression that you have the most mellow, patient pets ever! They always look so cool and calm and waiting for a collar-scratch or an ear massage.
They are pretty mellow. Usually just want to sleep or be loved. They get a little rambunctious if there is someone or something near the property that does not belong, in their opinion.
