This blog is really a journal of my journey into the world of art. I have no formal art training and have not done much more than doodle since I was a kid. But I am learning that art is an important aspect that has been missing from my life. Thanks to some wonderful extremely artistic friends in the fountain pen world and on Twitter I have begun this journey - thanks, Mia, for insisting that everyone is an artist!

Book of Days 6
I find myself fascinated with backgrounds and colors - I only wish this truly reflected the richness and glow of the Twinkling H2Os - the texture is provided by a number of things - the watercolor paper that I glued into my sketchbook, the glue itself and an application of Golden's clear tar gel.
Attempting to stay true to my word - EXPLORE

Beautiful, rich color--even if I can't see the full glow.
Never tried the clear tar gel. How is it to write on?
I was actually surprised that the ink from the FC Pitt pen that I used wrote right over the gel
Gorgeous color! You are having an interesting time of it!!
delightful!! I love the word 'explore' and I love this piece. You're super creative and inspiring.
I really like the colors in this one, and the quote you used fits it quite nicely. - kp
Gorgeous colors and textures! I haven't tried the tar gel, but have tried some of Golden's other acrylic texture gels. I love their acrylic paints, too. The Pitt pens are really versatile I see! Good to know. I love how your choice of quote blends with the harmony of your pages!
