This blog is really a journal of my journey into the world of art.
I have no formal art training and have not done much more than doodle since I was a kid. But I am learning that art is an important aspect that has been missing from my life.
Thanks to some wonderful extremely artistic friends in the fountain pen world and on Twitter I have begun this journey - thanks, Mia, for insisting that everyone is an artist!

I just had to share this
Kate Leth, of Kate or Die, has captured the sentiment perfectly. No get out there and DO IT!!
I love this so much. I'm totally guilty of thinking what I create isn't really art--just an amateur dodo playing w/ art supplies.
I'm not going to do that to myself this next year. As a matter of fact, I'm going to start a "doodle a day" project...You've been so inspirational to me, THANK YOU!!!
Thank you! This is exactly what I needed to hear. Your blog introduced me to the concept of Zentangle, and I've been holding off on it because I'm worried that I might suck at it. But, this gives me the encouragement to just do it. I remember when I used to make art because it was fun. I want to have fun drawing stuff again. Just because. =)
This cartoon is so perfect, it is exactly the sentiment that my friend, Mia, conveyed to me and which was the beginning of this blog. The only difference being that if you keep it up, she'll come after you with an X-acto knife - LOL
