This blog is really a journal of my journey into the world of art. I have no formal art training and have not done much more than doodle since I was a kid. But I am learning that art is an important aspect that has been missing from my life. Thanks to some wonderful extremely artistic friends in the fountain pen world and on Twitter I have begun this journey - thanks, Mia, for insisting that everyone is an artist!

75 in 75 #28
When G and I met in 1989, I had a cat. Said cat, aka Little Girl, had been with me since I was 17, and had followed me through college, failed marriage, through 10 moves (often just between apartments) and I loved her very much. Sadly we lost her in 1994.
I've always loved all animals, but always considered myself a "cat" person until the arrival of the Akitas. Since 1990, we have had two pairs of Akitas (male and female) we lost our first pair, Ringo and KiKi, at ages 12 and 11, and our current pair, Kota and Jewlz, are now 8 and 6.
This means a lot of vet visits over the years and lots of rabies tags and county licenses. Well, sentimental type that I am, I've keep most, if not all of these tags over the years. Here are a few (of the 33).

I wish I had thought to do that. Though I do have the ashes and collars of our two mastiffs.
